Salon and Spa Venéssa is located in the thriving community of downtown Woodstock, just 30 miles north of Atlanta. We have offered exceptional services for 30 years, and have been recognized in our industry by Salon Today Magazine as one of the “Top 200 fastest growing salons in North America” seven times over. Our beautiful building has remained a prominent landmark in the heart of downtown Woodstock for more than 100 years. The building was originally owned by J.H. Johnston and Sarah Avis Benson Johnston (two of the founders of Woodstock.) It’s large white columns and brick exterior perfectly suits the historic ambiance of the downtown area.
I learned early on the importance of making the most of every step in the journey of life. Over 30 years ago, I opened a four chair boutique salon in a sleepy community called Woodstock. My goal, then, was to offer “Upscale and In Town” services without the drive. My first direct mail tagline was actually, “Buckhead without the Drive!” Looking back, I thought that was so clever. I was so passionate about my vision to introduce my hometown to the Aveda product lifestyle, yet also wanted to deliver exceptional hair services at affordable prices. Early in my career, I would often sit at the red light on Main Street and find myself daydreaming about the old Johnston house, a stately two story Greek revival home that I visualized as a beautiful salon and spa. This prominent home had been so vital in the birth of Woodstock, but it needed a lot of work. With that in mind, I would quickly dispel those dreams as “out of my reach.” But, in 2001 my daydream became a reality. With the support and expertise of my husband, Ivey, I embodied a Miss Scarlet “I’ll think about it tomorrow” attitude and went for it! I had a dream and was willing to take a risk for it. Today, Salon and Spa Venéssa is proud to be an established and sustainable business in the vivaciously growing community of downtown Woodstock. My commitment to deliver exceptional salon and spa services in a unique and luxurious atmosphere is not only a large part of my life journey, but literally, a dream come true. With a talented team of professionals, we work to create beauty and restore wellness. We have created a sanctuary where our guests can find balance along their journey in life.
